“For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139: 13 (NKJV)
Mothers! God made them special. Their body carefully protects the unborn child from the moment of inception until birth. Yet, what is amazing to me is that God forms each unborn infant in the mother’s womb, giving the infant all sorts of potential. With all that potential, God cares enough to plant in the mother’s heart a special connection to the unborn infant. That connection is tough enough to handle really tough situations.
Mothers bond with their infant children in a special way during the birthing process and then nursing the child to bring life sustaining nutrients to the baby. The bond changes over time as the child grows and matures. However, the bond does not weaken, even when time and distance make person-to-person interactions difficult. This is one of those times that absence truly makes the heart grow fonder.
Understanding the mother’s bond comes from our Creator provides the background for understanding God’s love for each person ever born on this earth.
