“So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife; and when he went in to her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bore a son.” Ruth 4:13 (NKJV)
Long and short is that Boaz did take care of everything come the morning and then he married Ruth and they had a son. Naomi was a proud grandmother to this little infant.
The infant was named Obed and he grew up. His son was Jesse and Obed’s grandson was David. What a mighty God we serve. Ruth was a foreigner yet because she showed love, compassion, and mercy toward her mother-in-law she is named in the lineage of Christ.
We are adopted into Christ’s lineage when we accept Jesus as our Savior-Redeemer. We are just as much a foreigner to Christ’s kingdom before we accept Him as our Savior-Redeemer as Ruth was in Bethlehem.
Lord, help me today to show love, compassion and mercy toward all those I come in contact with so that they may see Christ living in me to the glory and honor of God.
