“And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:13-14 (NKJV)
Queen Esther was a Jew, but no one in the palace knew she was, except for Mordecai, her uncle. He pleaded with her to go to the king and ask him to save her people. That had to be a tough decision for her to make. You see, no one, not even the queen could come before the king without him sending for them. The king hadn’t sent for Esther for a long time. If she went in and he wasn’t happy to see her, he could have her killed.
Yet, Mordecai had a good point. Even if no person knew that she was a Jew, God knew. Maybe God had brought her to the palace to help save His people just like she had brought the information to the king from Mordecai to save the king’s life.
She asked all of the Jews to fast and pray with her for 3 days and then she would go to the king. Because, yes, maybe she had been brought to the palace for just this reason.
In my life today, where has God placed me to bring glory to His name? Who has He placed in my life for me to bless and share God’s love with? What about you? God loves you so much that He wants you to share His love with others in His name.
