Conditioned Promises

“The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.” Deuteronomy 28:9

Did you notice that little 2-letter word – “IF”? We will be a holy people to God … IF … we keep His commandments AND walk in His ways. That is a conditional promise! I must do my part.
If I follow the Bible’s counsel … THEN God will call me a set-aside, holy person to Himself.

What a wonderful promise. Really, why would I want to do something that isn’t pleasing to God anyway? God wants the best for me in all situations (even when I can’t see that His way is best).
Of course, the inverse is true also. If I don’t keep God’s commandments and I don’t walk in His ways, I know I won’t be in the group of holy people to the Lord. I won’t be set-aside for the Lord. The choice is mine! What choice will you make today?
