Exposed Motives

“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.” 1 Corinthians 4:5 (NKJV)

It is not my job to judge others at this time! The Bible is clear that until the Lord comes, we aren’t to judge beforehand. But too often the person I’m judging is myself harsher than I would think of judging someone else. This text is a reminder to me to not even judge myself – let God be my judge. He knows the hidden motives that even I don’t recognize in myself.

The hope that is in this text for me is that even when the light shines on the hidden things and reveals hearts’ motives, THEN each one’s praise will come from God. Oh, that I would be able to always praise God for His goodness, fairness, and mercy.

Thank you for your diligence in getting My BibleRoom online. Truly judge myself much harder than I do others and believing that God forgives someone as sinful as myself is a LEAP. “Let God be my Judge” helpful words. Thank you. Claiming that promise.

I’m glad you were able to make a post, Aunt Della! Yeah, I’ve been told before that I’m too hard on myself. To keep striving for perfection and never attaining is hard. These devotionals are in many ways my Bible journaling after contemplating the specific texts. Thank you for coming along on this journey.
