” “No one is holy like the LORD,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God” 1 Samuel 2:2 (NKJV)
Hannah’s prayer to the Lord is recorded in the Bible for all generations to read and be blessed because of God’s faithfulness. Take time today to read the entire prayer – the first 10 verses of 1 Samuel 2! Hannah was careful to give God the recognition and glory for having blessed her with a child after many years of not being able to have a child.
Look at verse 5: “Even the barren has borne seven,
And she who has many children has become feeble.” (NKJV) It seems to make reference to additional children that she has given birth to and that God had brought her a sense of justice with Peninnah.
God may not be this dramatic in my life in all situations, but He is able to show the same level of faithfulness to me as He did to Hannah. I’m thankful for Hannah’s prayer after she left Samuel at the tabernacle. We don’t know how long when chapter 2 was written, but I’m thankful that it is there. It is another proof that God keeps His promises and goes beyond my wildest dreams and expectations when I trust His Word.
