One way I try to encourage friends is to send an e-card. What do you do?
One way I try to encourage my neighbor who lost his wife to pancreatic cancer is weekly to make egg salad with a dozen eggs just as his wife prepared the egg salad (she grated the boiled eggs). I also keep snickerdoodle cookies in the freezer that he can eat when he comes over daily . He says if I were to send the cookies to his home he would eat them all at once and this way he eats a few while he is here. For the first time in many years he is no longer pre-diabetic. The encouragement comes my way, too, as he helps me in many ways. God is good as my neighbor and I lost our beloved spouses within a year.
What a wonderful way to encourage your neighbor! I know your treats always are so tasty and for him having food similar to what his wife fixed would be an extra special treat. I’m thankful that you both have someone in your lives to help you through the grieving process. Isn’t our God so wonderful to make that type of arrangement, long before you had any idea either of you would need the encouragement!
