“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:15-16 (NKJV)
The world judges success differently than our Heavenly Father. Everything in this world is going to burn up and be gone. Buildings, banks, money, jewelry, everything will find an end. The Heavenly Father judges success from the viewpoint of eternity. When I make choices that are in accordance with God’s love and His Law of love, I will not be self-focused, but other-focused. Christ is to be my focus and becoming like him is my goal.
